Who Sells Golf Carts — And How to Evaluate Each Type
Not all golf cart sellers are created equal. Here's a breakdown of the major seller types and what each offers.
Types of Golf Cart Sellers
Authorized Dealers
The gold standard. Authorized dealers like TIGON have manufacturer agreements, certified technicians, warranty support, and real inventory. TIGON is an authorized dealer for DENAGO and Evolution at all 16 physical stores.
Best for: Anyone buying new, anyone wanting warranty protection, first-time buyers.
Independent Used Cart Dealers
Small dealers specializing in used inventory. Quality varies enormously — some are excellent; others are moving problem carts quickly. Always inspect and test before buying. Service support after sale is limited.
Best for: Experienced buyers seeking specific used models at competitive prices.
Private Individuals (Marketplace)
Other individuals selling their personal carts. Lowest prices, highest risk. No warranty, no financing, no service support. Critical: inspect everything and verify all claims independently.
Best for: Buyers who are comfortable with inspection risk and can evaluate battery and mechanical condition.
Big-Box / Online Retail
Limited selection, typically entry-level only. Service after sale is essentially non-existent. Not recommended for primary-use carts.
