Golf Carts in Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand

The Myrtle Beach area — locally called "The Grand Strand" for its 60-mile arc of Atlantic coastline — is one of the most golf-cart-dense environments in America. With 14 million annual visitors, 90+ golf courses, hundreds of resort communities, and a year-round climate that supports outdoor activities 10+ months per year, golf carts are everywhere along the Grand Strand.

TIGON Golf Carts serves the Myrtle Beach and Grand Strand market from our Orangeburg, SC location and statewide delivery capabilities.

The Grand Strand Golf Cart Culture

Myrtle Beach's golf cart culture developed organically over decades, driven by:

Golf courses: The area has more golf courses per square mile than almost anywhere in the country. Golf carts aren't just on the courses — they're used to travel between resort properties and course entrances.

Gated communities: The Grand Strand has hundreds of gated residential communities — including Grande Dunes, Barefoot Resort, Market Common, and The Reserve — where golf carts are the primary internal transportation.

Beachfront properties: Ocean-adjacent rental homes, condominiums, and resort communities use carts for beach access and property exploration.

Campgrounds and RV parks: The Myrtle Beach area has numerous large campgrounds where golf carts are essential — from Lakewood Camping Resort to Pirateland Family Camping Resort to Ocean Lakes Family Campground.

Golf Cart Laws in Myrtle Beach
